Kiester For A Cure was created in 2009 when three women, Rachel Lohberger, Lori Schumann and Linda Willaby, got together to have a bowling fundraiser intended to raise money which would be used locally for people who are diagnosed with cancer. Since then, the group has added members, Karen Zabel, Jodi Willaby and Sheila Chose. With the support of the community, Kiester For A Cure has expanded its annual bowling fundraiser as well as added a fall meal and 5k walk/run with proceeds used to support high school scholarships. Money raised from the annual bowling fundraiser has been used towards the purchase of state of the art equipment for the medical center in Albert Lea, donations given to area Hospice organizations, Beads of Courage and donations given to local citizens upon diagnosis of cancer. By keeping this money local, our intent is to make a difference in lives of individuals and families as they fight this disease.
